Poseidon Aerospace Raises $11m to Build Autonomous Cargo Aircraft
Poseidon Aerospace has raised $11 million in seed funding to build autonomous cargo aircraft.
Led by Tamarack Global, with participation from Drover Ventures, Draper Associates, Starship Ventures, Cade Ventures, GoAhead, Fortitude Ventures, and angels, Poseidon aims to build the future of air freight through unmanned platforms designed to move cargo more cheaply and quickly than current alternatives.
Alongside seed funding, Posideon announced two of its first unnamed platforms—Ergret and Heron. Both of these platforms are designed around land and sea. Eregret is a fixed-wing aircraft with short takeoff and landing, designed for transporting regional air cargo.

On the other hand, Heron, is the company's seaplane, without the need for a runway, and designed maritime and inter-island logistics.

Both of these cargo planes are currently being built and is slated for a launch sometime in 2026. Poseidon hopes that by building unmaned cargo planes they will lower costs and decreased risk, increased usable payload and volume, increased utilisation, and signifcantly decrease maintenance and fuel costs.
